LO: To compare and order fractions - denominators which are multiples.

When the denominators are different we have make sure that both fractions have the same denominator. This is done by finding a common denominator. - ideally the lowest common denominator -. This is done by finding a number which  either the product of the two denominators multiplied together or by using your timetables to find a common multiple e.g 3/5 and 1/3. The lowest common denominator here would be 15. (5 x 3). Once you have multiplied your denominators accordingly, multiply the numerator by the same about as the denominator in order to maintain the vertical relationship.
