At Lyndhurst, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every pupil is valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. We believe that all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), have the right to a high-quality education that helps them grow in confidence, independence, and ambition.
Our vision is to create a learning environment where SEND pupils:
Develop resilience and a positive mindset to face challenges with confidence.
Build the independence and life skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
Are supported to reach their full potential, with high aspirations for both their academic and personal achievements.
Learn to communicate clearly, express themselves effectively, and advocate for their needs.
Gain the confidence and self-belief to take their place in the world.
Are inspired to become responsible, successful citizens who make a positive contribution to society.
We will work closely with families, support services, and our wider community to ensure that every SEND pupil receives the personalised support they need to flourish. At Lyndhurst, we celebrate diversity and believe that inclusion makes our school stronger for everyone.

At Lyndhurst we aim to provide an inclusive learning environment and a curriculum that is appropriate to the needs and abilities of all our children. We plan our teaching and learning in such a way that we enable each child to reach for the highest level of personal achievement. We believe that all teachers are teachers of special educational needs. As a school, we provide for a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. We support children with SEND whom have difficulties with learning and our SEN TA Miss Gee works regularly with children who need specific help with cognition and learning. At Lyndhurst we have developed a breadth of experience in supporting children with Communication and Interaction needs. Our staff use visual timetables and individual ones to support children. We also use a lot of visual prompts to support our children. We have access to a good range of speech and language resources and interventions. We provide for children with social communication difficulties and children with ADHD. We regularly access other experienced professionals for children with specialist needs.
